Filming Session 1

After reflecting on our continuity task and how we went about completing it, we wanted to be able to avoid these mistakes for the most effective way of completing our final piece. Due to becoming behind on the continuity task, it has delayed the filming process for the final piece which has given us not as much time as we'd like to have to film it.

Despite our delayed start, we got straight into the filming using our drawn storyboard and animatic which Lily and I created as a reference, so that we could follow the shot we should film. As a group, we decided to start with the second half of the film, which is to be filmed at Chalfont common. We decided to start here as the first half of the film was to be filmed indoors so this would take less time, due to not having to meet and walk to the needed locations. Once we had trekked to the common we set up the equipment and started filming, making sure that our shots were steady and straight, using professionally thought camera techniques to connote the wanted views of the protagonist in the movie introduction. The first problem we encountered was the wanted bag prop for the protagonist was no longer available to use, which meant we had to continue filming however with a similar bag of a different colour, a darkish brown. I liked this change in the end as it followed the styling of this character, a teenage girl with slight dark undertones which then contrasts the idea of a ditsy venerable girl being kidnapped/taken and instead making the idea scarier in presenting anyone of any look is venerable to a crime of this nature, which follows our ambiguous idea.

Once we had adjusted this problem to fit our storyboard/character, we continued filming and managed to achieve a good result in the hour and a half filming session. We managed to get a range of clips of each section from slight angle changes so that we could chose which clips we wanted to use in our final piece so that we had a selection which fitted best together .

Overall this filming session was beneficial to our group and has given us positive thoughts going into the next filming session.
